With a passion for storytelling and an eagerness to learn more about filmmaking, Gilles Doiron left his hometown of Dieppe, NB, to pursue a degree from the Toronto Film School. Throughout his time in the film production program, Gilles develops a love for directing and a keen eye for the direction of photography. After graduating with honors, he spends the next few years in Toronto and Montreal, working in the field and gaining valuable industry experience.

Armed with the knowledge and experience he needs, Gilles returns to the Greater Moncton area to help develop his home province’s film industry. Over the next ten years, he has worked on over 50 productions ranging from TV series to music videos to feature films to corporate campaigns, taking on a multitude of roles and responsibilities. These years in New Brunswick’s film industry brought on the opportunities he had dreamed of and offered challenges he was never afraid to face. Gilles’ drive and determination for his craft helped push boundaries and open doors for himself and others in the field. Gilles’ career highlights include;

- Accepting an invitation in 2012 to attend and participate in a short film festival in Trouville, France. As the delegate of the Acadian filmmaking movement, he directs a short film and participates in the production of many others during the festival.

- In 2013, he sold his first broadcast license for an award-winning feature film that he directed: Aller-Retour (Radio-Canada). The same year, he was elected as the representative of the Media Arts within the professional arts association:

Association acadienne des Artistes professionnel.le.s du Nouveau- Brunswick (AAAPNB). For the next few years, Gilles keeps adding productions to his resume, he embarques on as many projects as possible to gain knowledge and credibility.

-  Gilles takes the lead in 2015 and rebranded the company to Botsford Bros Inc. As the sole producer of this new corporation, he had to keep the momentum going and aim for the next ambitious project. Every project that went through the Botsford Bros. process was treated like a cinematic piece. Only creative and quality projects were chosen to go through the pipeline. This helped the company build its character.

- In 2017, Téléfilm Canada chose ‘Pour mieux t’aimer’ as 1 of 8 feature film projects selected across Canada for its Talent to Watch program. This French feature film is New Brunswick's fourth full-length feature film.

- Gilles’ short film ‘Rule: Le Vigilante By-Law Enforcer Story’ was selected to screen during the Cannes film festival in Nice, France in 2018.

- In 2019, Gilles Produced and Directed ‘Prince de l’Acadie’, a TV documentary for Unis TV and TV5 Monde, which led him and his crew to travel around the world. Later that year, Gilles was invited to attend the ASC Masterclass in Los Angeles, California. Here, he learns to perfect his cinematography skills.

- Since 2000, Gilles has produced another feature documentary, a 13-part doc series, a sketch comedy series, and a youth fiction series and was an executive producer on three seasons of a gameshow filmed in Montreal. While the main focus has been Producing, Gilles continues directing and directing DP on certain projects that speak to him.

-  2022-23 has been a very busy couple of years; Gilles has landed a 3 part documentary series around the video game industry, a short documentary series about the Lizard People conspiracy, signed his cinematography for an LGBTQ musical feature film, a documentary about a blind astronomer, a fast passed workplace comedy series, a reality series around the George Dumont Hospital all while creating corporate content which recently sent him to the Arctic region of Cambridge Bay.
